i got my wii on tuesday and i have to say its great! you get a sports game with the console and to be honest its just there for you to get used to the new control system. there is tennis, baseball, boxing, golf and bowling and with all of these you make the actions like you would in real life. for example you hold on swing the baseball bat like you really would. its a great way of getting used to the new control.
i got the american football game as well, madden. omg its difficult to get to grips with. ive being in my bedroom waving these controls about like i've got a mental condition ! everything involves you either swing, slashing, pushing or waving the remote. bloody good fun when you pull somethign off but hard to get used to it.
anyway its a great bit of kit

360 is the way to go, I love mine! The Wii sounds good, but is it more of a gimick??? I can see a lot of people getting bored of them quite quick! The Xbox 360 has far more depth and options, whereas the Wii seems a bit one dimensional.
Dead Rising, awesome! PGR3, Brilliant!Fight Night round 3, looks and sounds great!
Sorry boys, but the PS3 as well as the Wii will have to do alot to beat the 360!

well the ps3 sounds brilliant and has some really good features but i wouldnt use any of them. it is pretty much going to be a computer. all ready i dont use the ps2 network play or the xbox live so im not going to use internet or download my photos onto my ps3. plus with a price tag of £450 i may give it a miss.
im not sure about the wii being a gimic? i do see what you mean a to be fair only time will tell but it does depend on how far they can take it. ive been playing the zelda game on it and although you dont have to jump about waving your arms in the air it does make you feel a little more involved in the game.
i still will get a 360 but only when the price comes down (beer is more important to me) i played gears of war and the graphics were amazing! hadnt seen anything like it before.
about the control system. i have to say after a long day at work i dont always want to me standing up waving my control like a golf club. i want to just chill out and just press a few buttons.
well my conclusion is that both consoles have there plus points and that i will end up having both.
ps. i see know one has done a match report. i cant get myself to do one as im still really upset about the whole thing. never felt that bad after a game of football
